Hello everyone and specially those of you in Karachi.

The Crafter’s EXPO, 2013 is almost here. On the risk of sounding trite, I have to say ‘how time flies’. Needless to say that I am very excited and soooooo looking forward to seeing you in person.

Last year’s EXPO was a huge success as far as visitor turnout goes. The number of vendors displaying this year is almost double the last time. And it is safe to say the visitor turnout will also be far greater than last year.

We are putting together specials and coupons and surprises for you. I want to share one of these surprises with you here. This is something I’ve been meaning to do for some time now. Artful Crafting is introducing Paper Packs in 8×8 inch and 12×12 inch sizes. THese are double sided cardstock papers, dotted on one side and plain co-ordinating color on the reverse. These will be available in 3 color combinations with each combination having 12 color so 36 colors in all. Each pack will have 24 papers with 2 papers in each color.

The first batch arrived today. These are the ‘Neutrals’. And they have turned out beautifully. The picture does not do them justice but I couldn’t wait to share this with you. Will share the other colors when they arrive from my (very nice) printer whose status will be instantly downgraded if the next batch is not up to the mark. but i’m very hopeful. The ‘Neutrals’ were the ones I was most worried about and i’m really very happy by the outcome. So here are the (lousy) pics of these gorgeous papers.

Happy Crafting.

I’ve been meaning to do something like this for quite some time and so after a whole day of work and burnt fingers I finally did manage to embellish this box. And there is still more work to be done on the base. But i thought I’ll share what I’ve been able to do so far.

I’m calling this ‘An Ode to Roses’. THere are all kinds, Big, medium small and tiny; Some are made with burlap, others from some pretty fabric, then there are those done with some vintage taffeta ribbon and yet more with felt.

Hope you enjoyed this.

Mixed Media; the Madness continues.

Hello after a rather long time. The excuse is genuine however. The stamping workshop, of course,  is to blame. Can’t complain though; it was very intensive but very enjoyable. Wanted to share a ‘mixed media’ project which we did in the course of the workshop although it was not in this particular workshop’s scope.

This was done impromptu, using whatever supplies were available at the workshop.  The only acrylic paints I had, in addition to black and white, were purple and blue. I don’t think I would have used this combination had I had any choice. I think the ‘she art’ paper scraps (that i had in my scrap stash) did go well with this combination.

The canvas was painted with purple and blue acrylic paint. The cake was built using ‘She Art’ papers by Pink Paislee. Texture and definition was added with stamps and doodling with black and white pens.
