Mixed Media Canvas

I started with an 8×8 inch canvas. I applied a coat of white gesso to the canvas and let it dry. To add color I used distress spray in Wild Honey and Ripe Persimon. I added texture with a text stamp using watercan archival ink from Ranger. More texture was added with Prima 3D gel applied through  a stencil which was then covered with ‘Snow’ embossing powder and set using a heat tool.

I chose a Blue Fern chipboard piece  and built my composition around it.  I covered it with gesso, and embossed using versamark ink and oatmeal embossing powder.

In the upper right I layered  some Petaloo flowers, chipboard flourishes painted black, fussy cut clock and a couple of baubles from my stash. I stamped and white embossed an image from Blue Fern Studios on black cardstock , fussy cut it and added it the composition.

I added a paper clay medallion in the lower right part. The medallion was made using an IOD mold. I painted it white and used pink mica powder over the center.

I layered it with some Prima flowers and leaves and some stamped elements.  . I white embossed ‘magic is something you make’ from Dina Wakely on a piece of black cardstock and cut around it and added it to the canvas. Finally I  added glass glitter in some spots.

Some products used in the project.
