I can’t believe that we are more than half way through Ramadan already. The blessed month has truly flown by! As we approach Eid, I decided to share a tutorial on Eidi Pockets, as everyone one will be needing these ;).
Jaihan here today with a technique post using the mood board from Challenge 13.
I had a lot of printed cardstock left from my kit along with the amazing dotted basics from Artful Crafting and I wanted to make a birthday layout using them. My main aim was to make a layout with just paper- nothing fancy like flowers or inks. Just paper!
For many people including myself, the biggest question is how to start and end the layout. I learned it at Finnabair’s workshop as well as at Varah’s which always works perfectly i-e start off with the focal area.
For me it was my shaker square. Place the biggest elements around the focal area and as you move away from it, make your elements smaller. This creates a smooth transition from start to end. If you place too many big elements all over the page, your eyes won’t know where to focus. I hope this little tip helps you in your future layouts.
After adding my main elements, I ended up the top using smaller elements I had cut from the printed paper. For the bottom, I did the same. I am going to add handwritten notes under the “Happy notes” section to make it more personalized.
You can enjoy the complete process video in the video below. You can see me figuring out how to go about it since it was not really planned before. However, it took me about half an hour to complete it. (Following the tip really helps)
